Pseudochromidae

The dottybacks are a family, Pseudochromidae, of fishes that were previously classified in the order Perciformes. However, recent revisions have led to the family being considered of uncertain affinities, or incertae sedis within the Ovalentaria, a clade within the Percomorpha. A total of approximately 152 species are known to belong to this family.
