Dragonets are a group of small, percomorph, marine fish belonging to the diverse family Callionymidae. These remarkable creatures are primarily found in the tropical waters of the western Indo-Pacific region. Dragonets can be classified as benthic organisms, as they predominantly inhabit areas with sandy bottoms, typically at a depth of approximately two hundred meters. Impressive in their variety, this family encompasses a total of 139 distinct species, distributed among nineteen genera.
