The barracuda, a formidable predatory fish with its striking appearance and aggressive behavior, belongs to the genus Sphyraena, the sole genus in the family Sphyraenidae. This classification was established by Constantine Samuel Rafinesque in 1815. Found in tropical and subtropical oceans across the globe, barracudas inhabit regions ranging from the eastern boundaries of the Atlantic Ocean to the 🌊 Red Sea, the western shores of the 🌊 Caribbean Sea, and various tropical areas in the 🌊 Pacific Ocean. Typically residing near the surface of the water, as well as in proximity to coral reefs and sea grasses, barracudas have become a popular target among sport-fishing enthusiasts.
