Remoras

The remora, commonly referred to as the suckerfish, belongs to the Echeneidae family within the Carangiformes order, a group of ray-finned fish. These creatures can range in size from 30 to 110 cm (12 to 43 in), depending on the species. Notably, their unique first dorsal fins are modified ovals that resemble suckers. These fins possess slat-like structures that can be opened and closed, allowing them to create suction and securely attach to the skin of larger marine animals. The remora's disk is composed of sturdy, flexible membranes that can be raised or lowered, enabling the generation of suction. The fish can increase suction by sliding backward or release itself by swimming forward. Apart from attaching themselves to larger marine animals, such as boats, remoras have even been observed attaching to divers. They possess proficient swimming abilities, characterized by a sinuous, or curved, motion.
