Pycnochromis iomelas, known as the half and half chromis, is a reef dwelling fish species belonging to the family Pomacentridae. It is occasionally available for purchase in the aquarium trade.

Pycnochromis iomelas displays a distinctive split coloration. The fish is entirely black from the middle of the dorsal fin to the nose, while the color changes to solid white from the middle of the dorsal fin to the end of the caudal fin. It reaches a maximum length of 8 cm.

Pycnochromis iomelas is primarily found in the 🌊 Pacific Ocean. Its habitat includes the Great Barrier Reef, as well as various reefs around northern 🇵🇬 New Guinea, 🇼🇸 Samoa, and the Society Islands (🇵🇫 French Polynesia).
