The Blackedge Halfbeak (Hemiramphus marginatus) is a marine species characterized by its distinctive blue dorsal coloration and a silvery stripe along its midlateral line. Belonging to the pelagic-neritic zone of tropical waters, this species reaches a maximum length of approximately 26 cm. The etymology of its genus name, Hemiramphus, is derived from Greek—where 'hemi' signifies 'half' and 'rhamphos' means 'bill' or 'beak.'

This species is geographically distributed within the 🌊 Western Indian Ocean, specifically confined to the 🌊 Red Sea and the 🌊 Persian Gulf, with potential occurrences in the 🌊 Gulf of Aden.
