Caesionidae, commonly known as fusiliers, is a family of marine ray-finned fishes belonging to the order Perciformes. This family encompasses approximately 23 distinct species. Fusiliers display close kinship with snappers; however, they have evolved specialized feeding adaptations that enable them to primarily consume plankton, as opposed to larger prey. These species tend to inhabit reef environments within the Indo-Pacific region and the 🌊 Red Sea.
