Overview
This dive location is alternatively referred to as Stone Beach or Lion's Head.
From the reef's summit, a small wall descends to depths of 12-15 meters. This section then transitions into a gentle slope, which subsequently evolves into a stepped drop extending beyond 35-50 meters.
Both to the north and south, this slope culminates in dramatic vertical walls.
Dive plan
A popular method is to undertake a drift dive originating from the north. The sheer wall progresses in fascination as it is punctuated by several coral formations. Striking towers extend outwards, adorned with soft corals, and featuring intricate caverns and accessible swim-throughs. Divers can conclude the experience by ascending into the shallower expanse of the sloping coral garden. An alternative dive commences from the mooring, primarily focusing on a thorough exploration of the coral garden, including its deeper sections.
What to see
This dive site boasts an impressive diversity of marine life. In the shallows, divers can anticipate encountering schools of snappers, surgeonfish, and goatfish, while the deeper sections serve as a habitat for napoleon wrasse, groupers, and moray eels. Turtles and sharks are frequent visitors to this location. Furthermore, there have been recorded sightings of both whale sharks and mantas here.
