Overview
The mooring point lies on the southern exposure of this compact reef, which ascends from a 10-12 meter deep, flat, sandy seabed, also characterized by coral blocks and table corals.
Dive plan
Though compact, this reef offers an exceptional diving experience thanks to its abundant marine life. Divers should prioritize the erg's northern face, which naturally presents the most captivating features. Immediately adjacent to the main reef, several sizeable brain corals provide shelter for schools of fish, which can be observed gracefully holding their position against the current. Approximately 50 meters to the north lies a spectacular smaller erg, teeming with soft corals and glassfish, offering superb photographic opportunities. When traversing to and from this northern highlight, be sure to explore beneath the numerous table corals and coral blocks, as hidden treasures await discovery.
What to see
Consistent with the broader region, divers can often expect to encounter marine life such as turtles, eagle rays, feather-tailed rays, or the impressive Napoleon wrasse. A diverse population of glassfish, silversides, and other diminutive reef fish draws in various hunters, including jackfish, lionfish, scorpionfish, and groupers. Furthermore, the sandy seafloor provides excellent camouflage for crocodilefish, which stalk their prey from beneath the surface.
