Overview
The dive site is characterized by a shallow reef wall, which borders a flat, sandy seabed.
A confined channel grants access to a lagoon measuring 9 meters in depth, traversing a coral garden that gradually descends to 14 meters.
In the western sector, a small number of ergs and pinnacles can be found.
Dive plan
For a drift dive, enter the water on the north side. Keep the reef to your left and follow the wall's contours until you arrive at the pinnacles. After a brief exploration there, proceed out over the coral garden. From this location, navigating at safety stop depth through the channel back to the boat is simple. Alternatively, begin your dive at the mooring and proceed outward through the channel. Take your time exploring the coral garden, then make a circuit around the ergs. Before returning to the boat, check your air supply; you might have enough time for a brief trip along the wall.
What to see
From August to September, the triggerfish nesting season transforms this into a particularly interesting dive. Be sure to bring a camera to capture the inevitable close encounters. Giant moray eels frequent the coral garden, where turtles are also often seen feeding. Near the pinnacles, expect classic Red Sea action with swarms of silversides attracting hunting jackfish. Dolphins sometimes pass along the main reef wall.
