If you’re passionate about the mesmerizing beauty of the Red Sea and its vibrant marine life, here’s a golden chance to roll up your sleeves and give back to this precious underwater world. On December 19, 2025, a remarkable event is taking place at Magawish Island - a paradise just off the coast of Hurghada known for its sparkling turquoise waters, soft sandy beaches, and stunning coral reefs. This isn’t just any day by the sea; it’s a full-on ocean cleanup powered by some inspiring partners and you’re invited!

Why Magawish Island?

Magawish Island is no ordinary spot - it’s often called Egypt’s very own Caribbean. A stone’s throw from Hurghada, it draws visitors for unforgettable snorkeling, diving, and beach days surrounded by colorful coral reefs and vibrant marine creatures. This island is a sanctuary, but like so many beautiful places around the world, it faces challenges from pollution and human impact.

That’s why this upcoming cleanup isn’t just important - it’s urgent. We want to keep Magawish’s waters crystal clear and its ecosystems thriving for generations to come.

Join the Big Clean-up Day

The event, organized by none other than Ahmed Gabr, the Guinness World Record Holder for the deepest scuba dive, and the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) as a strategic partner for sustainability, is powered locally by Aquarius Diving Club and Splash Hurghada. Expect full media coverage with TV and news channels ready to highlight the effort - it’s a day to celebrate, educate, and inspire.

Here’s the game plan:

  • When: December 19, 2025, starting at 8 AM sharp
  • Where to Meet: Marriott Marina, Hurghada
  • Who: Divers and non-divers, everyone is welcome!
  • What: Divers will clean underwater, while non-divers will tackle shoreline trash
  • How: The event organizers have 100 spaces available, split between Aquarius and Splash boats

Participation is free, but pre-registration is mandatory as many spots have already been snapped up! Plus, dive centers that join will be credited for their conservation efforts - so it’s a win all around.
