Overview
The site opens onto a shallow plateau, where a sandy expanse is dotted with various pinnacles and an oval erg positioned to the south. Moving northwest, this plateau gradually narrows into a distinct ledge before ultimately descending into a sheer wall.
Dive plan
The beacon located on the main reef offers an excellent point of origin for a drift dive that follows the wall in a northerly direction. The highlight of this underwater excursion concludes around the scenic pinnacles situated on the plateau. Alternatively, a dive commencing from the mooring can begin with an exploration of the drop-off, proceeding in a semi-circular route over the plateau to pass the pinnacles before concluding back at the vessel. Notably, one particular pinnacle, positioned nearest to the main reef, is especially captivating for photography.
What to see
Near the wall, bannerfish, butterflyfish, parrotfish, and surgeonfish can be seen together. Additionally, the sandy seafloor is densely populated with various marine species. Moses sole, blue-spotted rays, and torpedo rays actively excavate the sand, searching for crustaceans and other invertebrates. Conversely, partner gobies and their associated shrimps maintain vigilance from their subterranean dwellings. The pinnacles contain numerous cracks and caverns, each overflowing with glassfish.
