The dive

The reef Abu Hashish is located in the southern part of Hurghada, close to Makadi Bay. This dive site was used to smuggle hashish into Egypt.

On the dive site Abu Hashish you’ll find a dropoff and a plateau with depths from 15 to 25 meters.

On the plateau of Abu Hashish you’ll see some long and very attractive hard coral formations where you have a chance to see big squid. Furthermore, there is also a chance to meet a turtle or an eagleray.

The dropoff of Abu Hashish is mainly fantastic because of the superb visibility and the underwater life that might pass by. You might see barracuda, schools of mackerels, whitetip sharks and even hammerheads. At a depth of 30 meters some nice caves are located in the dropoff.

Because of the long sailing time to Abu Hashish, we can only travel to this dive site if the weather conditions are good.
