LongfinsPlesiopidae

The longfins, commonly referred to as roundheads or spiny basslets, belong to the family Plesiopidae. Previously classified under the order Perciformes, they are currently considered incertae sedis in the subseries Ovalentaria within the clade Percomorpha. These elongated fishes predominantly dwell in the 🌊 Indian Ocean and the western 🌊 Pacific Ocean.
