Overview
Commonly referred to as the Aquarium, this dive site presents an oval-shaped reef featuring coral outcrops set upon a flat, sandy bottom. Its remarkable abundance of marine life positions it among the most popular dive destinations in the Hurghada area.
Dive plan
Vessels typically anchor on the reef's southern flank, from which divers can explore either westward or eastward. This location also offers the possibility of a drift dive. Heading toward the east, divers will encounter three prominent pinnacles, situated approximately 15 to 20 meters away from the primary reef, alongside a stunning coral garden. This area boasts exceptional underwater formations, characterized by impressive brain corals flowing downward and intricate small grottoes. Furthermore, its luminous, shallow depths present an excellent environment for capturing underwater photographs.
What to see
The exceptional quantity of fish is what truly distinguishes this site. Divers can anticipate encountering extensive schools of bannerfish, masked butterflyfish, sweetlips, goatfish, glassfish, and various other species. It is also routine to spot cornet fish, moray eels, barracuda, and jacks here. Furthermore, eagle rays and turtles have made appearances at this location. Divers should also be alert for crocodile fish and triggerfish protecting their nests.
