Overview

Sakhwat Abu Galawa is a sheltered inshore reef on the stretch of coast north of Hurghada, 1.6 km north of Marsa Abu Galawa and part of the same shallow system. It is dived far less than the El Fanadir wall to the southeast, and the photographic record from it is correspondingly thin.

What to see

Thirteen photographs from this reef are in the catalogue, covering four species: Hemprich's tree coral, Schultz's pipefish, bluespotted ribbontail ray and giant moray. The pipefish is the notable one, since it has to be looked for rather than found.
