Plakobranchidae represents a distinct family of sea slugs, belonging to the marine opisthobranch gastropod molluscs within the superfamily Plakobranchoidea. While sharing some similarities in appearance with nudibranchs, they are classified as sacoglossans. Specifically, they are categorized as members of the clade Sacoglossa within the Opisthobranchia.
