Stethojulis albovittatus, commonly known as the blueline wrasse, whitelined wrasse, or rainbowfish, is a species of marine ray-finned fish belonging to the family Labridae. This species inhabits coral reefs and is known for its predation on small invertebrates. Geographically, it is distributed across the 🌊 Indian Ocean, ranging from the 🌊 Red Sea to southern Africa, and extends to the islands of Bali (🇮🇩 Indonesia) and Sumatra (🇮🇩 Indonesia). The blueline wrasse is found primarily in reef environments, including reef flats, clear lagoons, and seaward reefs, where it actively feeds during the day on small invertebrates, particularly crustaceans and molluscs. It has also been observed in rocky regions of Réunion and seagrass beds off the coast of 🇲🇿 Mozambique. Typically, this species is seen either solitarily or in small groups, consisting of one male accompanied by a few females.
