Macro underwater has one recurring problem: the closer the lens gets, the more the housing itself shades the subject, and a single side light throws a hard shadow across half of it. A ring solves that by lighting from all around the axis. This one threads onto a 67 mm port, is rated to 40 m (130 ft), and is a continuous LED rather than a flash despite what some listings call it, which means you see the light before you take the frame. Note the thread before you order: an OM System PT-059 housing is 52 mm and needs a 52-67 step-up ring. Cheap for what it does, and it is what most of the nudibranch and shrimp close-ups here were shot with.
