Tough TG-7
The default Red Sea compact: waterproof to 15 m on its own, and the only pocket camera with a real macro mode.

Specifications
If you ask ten guides on a Hurghada boat what the small camera in the BCD pocket is, most of them will say TG-7, or the TG-6 it replaced. The TG-6 is what a good part of the macro on this site was shot with, and the TG-7 is the same body with the same housing and the same lens, so nothing here changes with it. It goes to 15 m (50 ft) with no housing at all, which covers snorkeling and the shallow half of a reef, and its Microscope mode focuses close enough to fill the frame with a nudibranch. The sensor is small and the low-light files show it, so this is a bright-water, close-up camera rather than a wreck camera. Below 15 m it needs the PT-059 housing.
