# Goniobranchus Obsoletus (*Goniobranchus obsoletus*)

Goniobranchus obsoletus is a notable species of dorid nudibranch belonging to the family Chromodorididae. This marine gastropod mollusc is distinguished by its vibrant coloration.

Initially described from the Red Sea, occurrences of Goniobranchus obsoletus have also been documented in the Persian Gulf.

Characterized by its predominantly white mantle, this chromodorid nudibranch features an orange margin along the edge. An irregular band of blue-black is situated just inside the orange border, adding to its distinctive appearance. The mantle itself is textured (rugose) with an orange-brown reticulation pattern occurring between the raised pustules. The rhinophores and gills are translucent brown and adorned with white markings, further contributing to its visually striking appearance.
