# Red-striped Hogfish (*Bodianus opercularis*)

Bodianus opercularis, commonly known as the blackspot hogfish, is a species of wrasse prevalent in the Indian Ocean, including the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba extending northward, and southward to regions such as Madagascar and Mauritius, with its range reaching as far east as Christmas Island. This species is known to achieve a maximum length of 18 cm (7.1 inches).
