# Lined Wrasse (*Anampses lineatus*)

The lined wrasse, scientifically known as Anampses lineatus, is a species of wrasse that is indigenous to the Indo-Pacific region, ranging from the Red Sea to South Africa and extending eastward to Bali. Typically inhabiting lagoons and reefs, this species is commonly found at depths ranging from 10 to 45 m (33 to 148 ft), with a preference for depths below 20 m (66 ft). With a maximum length of approximately 13 cm (5.1 in), the lined wrasse also holds significance within the aquarium trade.
