# Raggy Scorpionfish (*Scorpaenopsis venosa*)

Scorpaenopsis venosa, commonly known as the raggy scorpionfish, is a venomous marine ray-finned fish that belongs to the family Scorpaenidae, also referred to as the scorpionfishes. This species is characterized by a mottled grey or red-brown coloration with tiny blue spots adorning its head and body. The raggy scorpionfish is indigenous to the Indo-West Pacific Ocean and can attain a length of up to 25.0 cm (9.8 inches).
