## Overview

Sharm El Arab is dived from inside a large lagoon south of Makadi Bay, with the boat made fast in the lagoon itself. The wall begins directly beneath it, running from 20 to 40 m and covered in coral, and it leads out to a plateau at 18 to 28 m carrying large table corals.

## Location

About 15 minutes south of Makadi Bay.

## Conditions

The lagoon mooring is sheltered. The dive can be kept shallow along the wall or taken deeper onto the plateau.

## Dive plan

From under the boat the route follows the wall with the reef on the right shoulder until the plateau opens out. The table corals there are the largest structures on the site and mark the turn.

## What to see

Turtles and barracuda are regular over the plateau, surgeonfish graze the wall, and the coral surfaces carry a range of sea snails.
