## Overview

Golden Blocks is two hard coral towers standing on a sandy slope, shallow enough that at low tide they can be picked out from the surface before anyone gets in the water. The colour they are named for is the coral itself. Around them the slope carries seagrass, smaller pinnacles and stretches of reef garden, and the whole site sits within recreational depth.

## Location

South Dahab, on the coast road below the town.

## Conditions

Instant shore entry with no current and good visibility. Open to every level. It gets moderately crowded at weekends.

## Dive plan

The two towers are the anchor of the dive and are usually circled first, then the route works the smaller pinnacles and the reef gardens on the slope between them. Depth is a choice rather than a constraint, and the shallow return over the seagrass is where the time is best spent.

## What to see

Table corals and gorgonian fans grow on the towers with anthias above them. Eagle rays cross the sand off the slope, and mantas have been recorded here, which is worth a look into the blue on the deeper leg.
