title: Nature Authority Warning: Avoid Diving with Sharks Near Hadera Power Plant!
description: Every winter, dozens of Sandbar and Dusky sharks gather near the Hadera power station, drawn by the warm water flowing from the plant. While it’s a rare chance to see these protected predators up close, the area is risky for swimming or diving due to strong currents, hidden fishing gear, and unpredictable wildlife. Authorities urge the public to admire the sharks from a safe distance and avoid breaking the rules - swimming here is off-limits for good reason.

# Nature Authority Warning: Avoid Diving with Sharks Near Hadera Power Plant!

The Nature and Parks Authority is sounding the alarm: they’re urging everyone to stay out of the water near the Hadera power station during the winter months. Every year, from November to May, Sandbar and Dusky sharks gather in this spot, attracted by the warm water flowing out from the power plant. It’s a unique sight, but it also makes the area risky for swimming, diving, or snorkeling.

So, what makes diving here so dangerous?

* **Tricky Water Conditions:** The currents near the outlet can be strong and unpredictable, making it tough even for experienced divers.
* **Hidden Hazards:** There are often loose fishing hooks and lines floating around, which can be a real danger underwater.
* **Unpredictable Wildlife:** Running into sharks is never guaranteed to be safe - these are wild animals, and their behavior can’t be controlled. They deserve space and respect.
* **Legal Protection:** Sharks in this area are officially protected. It’s against the law to harm, disturb, or feed them, and breaking these rules could land you in legal trouble.

The Authority is asking the public to appreciate the marine life from a safe distance and avoid taking unnecessary risks. After all, swimming here is already off-limits for good reason.
